Roy Bingley – Senior Quantity Surveyor
Roy Bingley is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Building, with 46 years quantity surveying and contract administration experience. Beginning as a trainee quantity surveyor, Roy progressed within the building construction, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering sectors over the course of four decades. Roy started working with the Decipher team in 2019, before joining them permanently in 2020.
In this time, Roy has managed contractual and commercial administration on a wide diversity of projects. His experience includes, wind farms, subsea cable systems, gas and nuclear power plants, rail and tunnelling projects.
A particular career highlight was the NEMO link. This was a sub-sea cable between the UK and Belgium. Everything about the project was fascinating. The cost of the work, the equipment used, dealing with shipwrecks, unexploded bombs, bad weather, trawler owners damaging the cables, working in Brussels, working with colleagues from the Belgium, Holland and Japan.
