As we continue into 2022, we thought it time we introduced you to some of the newest members of the Decipher team. Chris Jones joins the Manchester expert QS and commercial team as a Senior Consultant. Herman Louw joins as Associate and will be representing the planning and delay team in London.
Chris Jones, Senior Consultant – Quantum
Chris began his career in the construction industry as a trainee surveyor back in 1998. In this time, he has worked for a number of top ten contractors including Wates, Willmott Dixon and Watkin Jones.
Over the course of his career, Chris worked his way up to the role of commercial manager. His project experience includes residential and assisted living, student accommodation, stadia and education.
Having always enjoyed the contractual side of the role, Chris made the move into disputes consultancy with HKA in 2018. There he gained experience in nuclear, shipbuilding and infrastructure. He joined Decipher in January 2022.
Based in Manchester, in his free time Chris is a keen sportsman, taking part in triathlons and football coaching. He is also a Commissioned Officer in the Army Reserves and currently holds the post of second in Command of an Engineer squadron in the British, which takes up much of his spare time.
Herman Louw, Associate – Planning and Delay
Herman is a competent and experienced construction planner and forensic delay analyst. He began his twenty years career as a planning engineer with Network Rail. Herman then went on to work with major contractors throughout in the UK, South Africa, Middle East, and Australia.
In 2014, Herman made the move into forensic delay analysis with Driver Trett. There he carried out delay analysis on projects in the rail, marine, building, energy, renewal energy, and oil and gas sectors. Since then, Herman has worked with a number of firms specialising in claims, delay analysis and expert work.
Herman joined the Decipher team in late 2021. Based in London, he is about to support our clients in the south of the UK, whilst pulling on the support of our team based in Manchester and Macclesfield.
